Portraiture

Who we are is more than a likeness of our face. The essence of a person can be captured in so many ways, it is limitless. It could be the imprint of lipstick on the edge of a teacup or a well worn hat, there is a vestige of a person in the objects they touch and in the spaces they dwell. I enjoy capturing parts, context, light and shadow, and how these elements help shape the narrative of who the subject is or might aspire to be.

“There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.”

— Robert Frank
